The brief from her husband was one line long: photograph her face when the door opens, and then leave everyone alone.
I arrived four hours early to work out where to stand for those ninety seconds, and spent the rest of the evening at the edges of the room with a single 35mm lens.
The gallery is deliberately unpolished. There are frames in it that are technically imperfect and emotionally undefeatable, and those are the ones printed on their hallway wall.
