The Tavares Vows
Thirty four guests, one chapel with terrible light, and the loudest lunch I have ever photographed.

Ines and Rui eloped in the sense that they told nobody until the invitations arrived. Thirty four people made the drive up to Sintra on a grey Saturday, which turned out to be the best thing that could have happened to the photographs.
Flat cloud is a softbox the size of the sky. We used it for everything, including the portraits on the chapel steps that they had assumed would have to be indoors.
Lunch ran from two in the afternoon until the light went. Nobody gave a speech from a piece of paper. I stopped shooting twice, both times because I was laughing.
